Be it metabolism, growth or blood formation, nerves and muscles — nothing works without minerals!

Sodium and potassium for example regulate our body’s water balance. In their dissolved form, as electrolytes, minerals influence the vital properties of our bodily fluids. Manganese supports the formation and growth of bones, while calcium and phosphorus promotes strong bones and teeth. Iron is important for blood formation and iodine maintains the functioning of the thyroid gland. Magnesium also has many essential effects – for example, it strengthens the nervous system and the muscles.

Mineral deficiency can cause a variety of things. Because the body loses a lot of liquid during exercise, drinking isotonic fluids after exercise is particularly important. Isotonic drinks have the same proportion of solid to liquid parts as blood plasma. Given that the concentration of the dissolved particles is the same as in the blood, the body absorbs the liquid very quickly. Fruit juices are therefore an excellent “sports drink”. Especially apple juice with sparkling mineral water in a ratio of 1:3 is very suitable. This makes Pfanner Sparkling Apple an ideal isotonic drink. It is refreshing, invigorating, and supplies the body with the minerals it has lost during exercise.
